Welcome to the 725th Tablescape Thursday!
Whew! I’ve been moving stuff around in the garage this morning since the painters are coming back today to do a lot of touch-up work. Hopefully, after tomorrow, the painting will finally be complete and I can move all my dishes back into the cabinets this weekend. In the meantime, I have a festive, Moroccan-themed table to share, created by Norma who lives in the beautiful French countryside. Recently Norma had friends over for a fun, casual dinner party. The party started outside but eventually, the hot weather became too much and the dinner party was moved inside. So we get to see this beautiful tablescape in two very different settings!
Norma often sews wonderful bunting for decorating when she hosts a dinner party with friends. This time she also made the napkins and the table runner!
I love the colors in this bunting!
I remember when I traveled to Morocco a few years ago, we had several meals served from a tagine.
So I spotted Norma’s tagine in the center of her table right away! Norma’s tagine was a Christmas present from friends several years ago.
As mentioned, the party was moved inside as the temps outside climbed higher.
I really love the colors in this wonderful table setting!
Norma found her beautiful bowls in a local supermarket. The colors are perfect for this Moroccan-themed table!
The lanterns remind me so much of the designs and architecture you see in Morocco.
I remember from my trip that drinking/serving mint tea is a long-standing tradition in Morocco. Norma found the pretty mint tea glasses below in a charity shop and she bought the silver teapot while in Marrakesh. Norma said, “The round things in the little bowl by the pot are sesame-coated majoun, otherwise known as hashish balls. They are made with fruit and nuts and hashish, but not these!” Ha! Interesting, I’ve never heard of those!
Thanks so much to Norma for sharing this festive Moroccan table setting! Have you ever tried cooking in a tajine? I haven’t. I wonder if it’s a bit like cooking in a crock pot. I think it takes a while to prepare a meal in one, but not sure.
Looking forward to all the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
